Miscarriage Prevention

Many women are surprised to discover how common miscarriage actually is. More than one in five pregnancies (20%) ends in miscarriage. While women’s reactions to the loss of a pregnancy can vary, most women find the experience to be deeply distressing. After a miscarriage — or in some cases repeated miscarriages — many women lose confidence in their body, and begin to doubt their ability to ever have children.

Making matters worse, when women ask their gynecologist or doctor "why" the miscarriage occurred, answers are often vague and offer no satisfying explanation. This can undermine confidence even further, causing women to wonder if their body will ever be able to bring a baby into the world.

Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine offer women hope. Chinese Medicine believes that there are specific causes that result in miscarriage and for thousands of years acupuncture has helped women to correct the problems that cause miscarriages to occur. Once we are able to identify the specific factor that has caused a woman’s miscarriage to occur, treatment can be applied to help the body return to normal function.

The Texas Center for Reproductive Acupuncture specializes in the treatment of miscarriage prevention. Our programs have had tremendous success helping women carry their babies safely to term. Of the patients who have completed our recommended care program 94% have successfully carried their babies to term. Since our program began, we have had only two incidents where a patient with a history of miscarriage had a subsequent pregnancy loss while under our care.

As you weigh your options and consider the various treatments that are available, we would like you to know that acupuncture and Chinese Medicine offer a safe and highly effective method for preventing miscarriage.
