Inquiring about Clinical Success Rates

Most experienced practitioners of Reproductive Acupuncture keep track of their clinical success rates. When looking for a qualified practitioner, it may be helpful to ask how successful they have been treating patients of your same age and with similar medical conditions.

A good rate of success will probably lie somewhere between 60-90%. If the acupuncturist’s rate of success is significantly lower than this, or if the acupuncturist does not know what their success rate is, or if the acupuncturist seems vague or evasive about the success rate of his or her program, it is probably a good idea to inquire further about their qualifications and experience.

Also, be sure to ask a potential acupuncturist how they define success. Some may use conception as the definition of success, others may use live births, and others may consider a case to be successful if the patient has improvements in her menstrual cycle or overall reproductive health. When asking acupuncturists about their clinical success rates, be sure to have them define their terms clearly so that you can be sure you are both talking about the same things.
